What can India learn from the Egypt Uprising?

The effects of the mass unrest in Egypt have not remained confined within the geographical perimeters of the transcontinental country.

Besides causing volatile financial conditions in the Gulf markets; the popular uprising in Egypt has also influenced the economies of different countries all over the world with the US Vice President describing it as "a lot going on across from Tunisia to all the way to Pakistan".

Owing to safety measures, Indian companies such Dabur and Marico operating in the strife-torn African country had no choice but to suspend their operations. The Indian government was prompt in making the necessary aircraft arrangements to bring Indians back home.

If this upsurge of democratic sentiment continues in Egypt, - a major power in Africa, the Mediterranean region, the Middle East and the Islamic world - the political map of the Arab world could change forever. But located thousands of miles across the globe, even India will not be able to escape the reverberations of the tumult in Egypt.
When it comes to the Kashmir Valley, India too can learn a few lessons from the Egypt uprising. Although the Omar Abdullah government was democratically elected, recent events indicate that it has lost the support of a large section of the residents of the valley.

What will the State do if and when, its own people go against it? What if tomorrow, Kashmiris unite and demand the ouster of the Abdullah government?

Whilst Rightbloggers 'accredit' the uprising to George W. Bush, who do we owe the widespread disorder in our country to?
